Premiering at DocEdge 2023 as part of their official selection, this new short documentary takes you on a walk through Mangapekeke (Mt Messenger) valley in the shadow of an impending highway project that threatens to destroy it. Following a Taranaki farmer’s fight to protect the ancient forest and wetlands of the valley, a universal story of human’s connection to nature unfolds.

A Fracking Tour of Taranaki (2021)

A short documentary highlighting an environmental catastrophe persisting in Aotearoa’s backyard - the expansion of oil and natural gas operations in Taranaki. Sarah Roberts as she takes us on a tour of the most significant sights of the oil and gas industry in the Taranaki region, from the Kapuni processing plant, to Parihaka. A Fracking Tour of Taranaki was made as part of the programme Someday Stories series 5, and featured on Maori Television.

Kaitiaki (2019)

An on-the-ground observation of the day’s following the eviction of the Protect Ihumaatao Campaign from their ancestral whenua, and the stories of the land at the heart of the conflict. Kaitiaki was made as part of the first official Chilldocs series, produced by ChillBox Creative.

Behind the Artefact (2020)

This short documentary tells the story of a Spotted Shag artefact collected by Auckland Museum in the early 20th century from the Hauraki Gulf that is now being used in an unconventional way for the sake of conservation. Made in partnership with Auckland War Memorial Museum and with the support of the Auckland Museum Institute.
